Sumnima-Paruhang — The Cosmic Couple

Sumnima the earth-mother and Paruhang the sky-father — two halves of one creation. From their union came the rivers and the mountains, the forests and the fields. Sumnima taught humanity the secrets of agriculture, weaving, and healing. Paruhang sent the rains and gave the gift of fire. Together they walked among the first people, teaching them the ways of right living, the proper rituals, and the bonds of community.
